Good afternoon, I’m Matt Johnson with the Anew Real Estate Group of Keller Williams Premier Realty and this is your Twin Cities monthly update for June 2019. Today, we’re going to study some of the numbers of real estate around the Twin Cities. Up first, new listings which climbed two point four percent over last year. There was 9,399 homes listed for sale in the month of May, which brought the homes for sale up just slightly, point six percent, in fact. There’s 11,327 homes currently available for sale in the Twin Cities market. The days on market was even from last year at 17, bested only once which was in June of 2018 at 16 days on the market. The median sale price climbed over last year, five point two percent to $285,000 for the median priced home in the Twin Cities and last but not least dollars per square foot remained even over last month but up five point six percent over last year at a $150 per square foot. Landlords, do you want out? Right now would be the time, you buy low, sell high. The market is in a great place, it’s a great time for you to move on from being a landlord. Maybe you were an accidental landlord. Somebody who possibly bought a townhouse or a house when the market was higher and previously couldn’t afford to sell. Well, now’s the time to get out. In fact, I’ve helped five families in that very situation sell their townhomes or their starter homes when they took that opportunity to low interest rates to move up. Speaking of which, interest rates are at a 16 month low. So, if you’re considering buying a home it’s a great opportunity right now to lock in that low rate. Again, I’m Matt Johnson from Keller Williams at 651-775-7515. I look forward to serving you and your real estate needs. Make it a great day! Thanks.
